Matt Sims

Matt Sims is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in software development and engineering management. Currently serving as Program Manager at Modus21, LLC since July 2025, Matt previously held the role of Senior Director of Software Development at AvidXchange, Inc., where responsibilities included developing high-performance engineering teams and managing cloud-native platforms in Microsoft Azure. During a long tenure at Benefitfocus from 2014 to January 2023, Matt advanced through several leadership positions, ultimately managing large teams and overseeing the performance and governance of a major data exchange platform. Prior to Benefitfocus, experience included program and project management roles at Engility Corporation and Cambar Software, emphasizing oversight of budgets, schedules, and technical deliverables as well as direct software development responsibilities. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems with a minor in Economics from Charleston Southern University.
