Alex Hsiao

Alex is an Entrepreneur & an award winning Designer. A proven visionary leader and strategist in the interactive product design space, with extensive experience in user experience, brand management, and graphic design. His work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, TechCrunch, Communication Arts, and PC Mag’s top 100 web sites.

Alex’s diverse startup experience ranged from brand to crafting digital product experiences. Working with his co-founder Nicole Zhang, Alex founded MOD Enterprises Inc. and its first project, MODwedding.com. MODwedding.com gives couples an opportunity to manage, organize and share their wedding plans, information and experiences in an elegant and tasteful way.

Back in the day he was Director at AOL for Audience Product Technologies, providing vision, brand management, and user experience design direction to numerous R&D initiatives, consumer applications and services. Alex’s creative direction guided such products as AIM, AOL China, AOL Radio & Video. Most recently he helped shape design experiences at Verizon, Netflix, Discovery, TLC, Animal Planet, and The Humane Society.

Alex served on the executive board of American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), Washington DC Chapter. He received his BA in Design cum laude from American University and taught advanced multimedia and computer graphics at his alma mater as an adjunct professor.
