Joe Bakaj is a seasoned executive and board member with a distinguished career in the battery, hydrogen powertrain, and automotive industries. Currently serving as the Chair of the advisory board at Moion GmbH, Bakaj collaborates with an Aachen University spin-out to commercialize hydrogen electric powertrain technology for heavy trucks. In previous roles, Bakaj was the Executive Vice Chairman at Britishvolt, where they guided operations and strategic development, and spent over 30 years at Ford Motor Company, overseeing global engineering teams and key vehicle platforms. With extensive international experience and dual British and German nationality, Bakaj is known for exceptional leadership in powertrain technology and vehicle development. They hold an Engineer’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from City University London.
