Ryan Chaves, Ph.D., is an accomplished machine learning expert currently serving as the Head of Machine Learning at Mollie since September 2022, where responsibilities include leading a team of 10 direct reports comprising 7 Data Scientists and 3 ML Engineers. Prior to this role, Ryan held significant positions at ING, including Chapter Lead Data Science II, managing a team of 15 Data Scientists, and Senior Data Scientist focused on financial risk model development. Academic experience includes postdoctoral positions at CNRS, where Ryan led key projects for the Cherenkov Telescope Array, and CEA, contributing to major research projects in high-energy astrophysics. Ryan's early research and development work extends to institutions such as the Max-Planck Institute and Physical Sciences Inc., with a strong programming background and expertise in multi-messenger astrophysics and data analysis.
