Tom Smith

Tom Smith is an experienced Battery Engineer currently at Molyon, specializing in battery pouch development since August 2025. Prior to this, Tom held various roles at Ilika plc from March 2019 to August 2025, including Battery Production Lead, where responsibilities encompassed leading the production of pouch cells and overseeing scale-up processes, coating, and team management. Tom's earlier experience includes positions at Nexeon Ltd as an Associate Engineer and Research Assistant, focusing on process development and anode material development. Tom also worked as an Electrician's Assistant at R.T. Harris & Son Limited and held a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Loughborough University, where Tom also supervised undergraduate students and contributed to a range of laboratory tasks. Education includes a Master's Degree in Chemistry from Loughborough University and foundational studies at Wood Green School.
