Ali

Ali is the current Product Lead at MoneySmart. Prior to this, they were the Project Manager at Mindlab Education from December 2013 to May 2016. In this role, they spearhead a multi-team project to develop a responsive web application system that could function across various platforms. This required conducting meetings with teachers and management to research and formalize a design document that would convert business requirements into technical solutions. Ali also screened, interviewed, and hired top I.T professionals to suit the offshore development of the system. Furthermore, they set clear expectations and goals for project teams, tracked progress against a timeline and budget, and revised as needed.

Under their leadership, the team generated approximately $20,000 in project savings by outsourcing the development to India. In addition, they achieved rapid prototyping by simulating the app using Microsoft Excel VBA to obtain valuable feedback from users to improve the design and user interface prior to development. Furthermore, they deployed a risk management strategy by setting fulfillment rewards/penalties for each milestone, ensuring the project was completed within the set budget and timeline. By critically analyzing the development cycle and writing bug reports, they were also able to boost operational productivity by ensuring efficient liaison between design, programming, and server management teams in different countries. Lastly, the successful deployment of the system ensured improved transparency of academic activities conducted at MindLab which in return resulted in an overall customer satisfaction of 95% in 2015.

Ali has a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the National University of Singapore, a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), and GCE A Levels in Science from The City School Lahore. Ali also has certification from the International Baccalaureate Organisation in IB Online Professional Developement, Harvard World Model United Nations in Certificate of Participation, Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI) in Certificate of Participation, and Scrum Alliance in Certified Scrum Product Owner.

Their manager is Max Del Vita, CPO. They are on a team with MP - Head of Technology, Sanjv - Product Lead.
