Akshat Vig

Akshat Vig is a distinguished engineer at MongoDB since June 2024, previously serving as a senior principal engineer in NoSQL at Amazon Web Services (AWS) from February 2010 to May 2024. During tenure at AWS, notable achievements include delivering DynamoDB Zero ETL integration with OpenSearch and Redshift, and publishing a paper at USENIX ATC 2023 on implementing DynamoDB transactions using a timestamp ordering protocol. Akshat also made significant contributions as a principal engineer, leading the launch of key features like Bulk Import and Glue Elastic Views, and published a paper on DynamoDB's architecture at USENIX ATC 2022. Earlier experience includes serving as a senior software engineer where Akshat led the development of continuous backups for DynamoDB and as a technical architect at HealthcareMagic, where the infrastructure was built from the ground up. Akshat holds a B.Tech in Information Technology from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka.
