David Sayles

David Sayles has a diverse work experience, starting in 2009 as the Programming Director at WRUC 89.7 Union College Radio. From 2010 to 2011, they worked as an English Language Teacher at Interac. In 2012, they became a Software Engineer at Makerbot Industries, where they played a significant role in developing the embedded python server for MakerBot Desktop 3D Printers. In 2014, they joined Neverware as an Engineer, working on PCReady, a localized virtualization solution. David later became the Director of Software and then a Senior Software Engineer, responsible for various projects and infrastructure improvements. Neverware was acquired by Google in 2020. Since 2020, David has been working at MongoDB, initially as a Senior Software Engineer and later taking on the roles of Staff Engineer and currently Senior Lead Engineer. In these roles, they have made significant contributions to the Access Management Web Application and improved developer workflow and code quality.

David Sayles has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Digital Art, which they obtained from Union College between 2006 and 2010. In 2008, they also pursued Japanese Language Studies at Kansai Gaikokugo University for a brief period.
