Doug T. has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Doug currently holds the position of Vice President of Engineering at MongoDB, a role they have held since August 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Engineering at MongoDB from November 2018 to August 2022.

Before joining MongoDB, Doug was the Founder of MVCode, a coding education program in the Bay Area. Doug started this venture in September 2013 and continued until April 2021. Doug also had a stint at mLab, where they served as the VP of Engineering from November 2017 to November 2018. During their time at mLab, the company was acquired by MongoDB, and Doug played a crucial role in scaling engineering efforts.

Prior to their involvement with MVCode and mLab, Doug worked as a Software Architect on a contract basis at Seed Equity from May 2013 to March 2014. In this role, they designed and coded a platform for a stealth startup, utilizing technologies like ASP.NET MVC, AWS, AngularJS, Node.js, and ElasticSearch.

Before venturing into entrepreneurship, Doug held various positions at PayScale, Inc., starting from July 2000 to January 2013. Doug served as the Vice President of Consumer Products / Chief Architect, Advisor, and Founder/Vice President of Engineering. During their tenure at PayScale, Doug led teams, envisioned and delivered new consumer products, and ensured system quality, performance, scale, security, and uptime.

Doug's early career includes roles at JPMorgan Chase & Co. as a Senior Software Engineer from June 2003 to June 2004, Levi Strauss & Co as a Tech Lead in 1997-1998, and Loansoft as a Programmer in 1995-1997.

Doug T. attended the University of Chicago from 1991 to 1995, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics.
