Fred Hui

Fred Hui is currently the Sr. Director of Engineering at MongoDB, a position they have held since 2025. Fred previously worked at Slack, where they served as Director of Engineering from 2022 to 2025 and as Senior Engineering Manager from 2020 to 2022. Before joining Slack, Fred was a Software Development Manager at Amazon from 2017 to 2020 and at AMD from 2010 to 2017. Additionally, they began their career as an IT Specialist at IBM Global Business Services from 2007 to 2010 and completed an internship as a Design Verification Engineer at ATI (now AMD) in 2006. Fred graduated with Honours from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering in 2007.
