John Williams has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. In 2009, they worked as a Legal Proofreader at Williams Lea for a year. In 2011, they interned as a Technical Writing Intern at Carnegie Mellon University Health Services for three months. John then joined Oracle in 2012 as a Principal User Assistance Developer, where they stayed until 2018. In 2019, they worked at CognitiveScale as a Senior Technical Writer for six months before joining MongoDB as a Lead Technical Writer, Cloud, where they are currently employed.

John Williams obtained their Bachelor's of Arts degree in English from West Liberty University, where they studied from 2004 to 2008. Afterward, they pursued a Master's of Arts degree in Technical Writing at Carnegie Mellon University from 2010 to 2011. In addition to their formal education, John has earned several certifications on Coursera, including "Using Databases with Python," "Using Python to Access Web Data," "Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python)," and "Python Data Structures."
