The fund is focused on establishing strong governance and aligning with international standards. It aims to enhance coherence in climate adaptation policies and create a stable financial mechanism for environmental initiatives. A key innovation of the Billion Tree Fund is its approach to diversify financing sources for the environmental sector, moving away from traditional budget reliance and international loans to include innovative, non-returnable domestic financing options. This approach is designed to support sustainable forestry and enhance the overall effectiveness of environmental projects in Mongolia.
