The Mongolian Export Cluster Network (MECN) is Mongolia’s national umbrella organization for export clusters a non-governmental, non-profit body established in September 2021 by the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) and five founding export clusters.
MECN unites over 500 small and medium enterprises across Mongolia’s key non-mining export sectors, including natural cosmetics, textiles & cashmere, leather goods, camel milk, sea buckthorn, and wool. We connect businesses, industry associations, government bodies, international funders, and research institutions to create a stronger, more competitive Mongolian export ecosystem.
What We Do
— Advocate for a supportive legal and business environment for export clusters at the national policy level
— Facilitate access to international markets, trade finance, and export knowledge
— Coordinate EU-funded and multilateral development programs supporting Mongolian SMEs
— Represent cluster interests in national and international forums
— Build capacity across member clusters through training, roundtables, and trade missions
Our Partners & Collaborators
MECN works in close collaboration with the EU-funded ITDM Project , the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the TCI Global Cluster Network, and international development institutions including EBRD and ITC SheTrades.
Our Vision
A Mongolia where non-mining SMEs compete confidently in global markets — supported by strong clusters, smart policy, and international partnerships.
