Robert Utterback

Robert Utterback is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Monmouth College since July 2017, where Robert teaches a variety of courses including programming, operating systems, and machine learning, consistently achieving high course evaluation scores. Prior to this role, Robert was an Assistant Professor, co-designing a data science program and introductory curriculum. Concurrently, Robert operates as a Software Developer and Data Science Consultant on Upwork, instructing bootcamp classes and developing high-performance simulations. Robert also contributed as a researcher for the MESA Group from February 2020 to 2022, focusing on machine learning applications in text analysis. Previously, Robert held positions as a Graduate Research Assistant at Washington University in St. Louis, a Research Intern at Huawei Technologies, and a Software Engineering Intern at Cerner Corporation. Robert earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science from Washington University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Truman State University.
