Rui Machado

Rui Machado, PhD, is a Staff Digital Design Engineer at Monolithic Power Systems, Inc., specializing in ASIC and FPGA design. Rui earned a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and a PhD in Advanced Engineering Systems for Industry from the University of Minho, where they were involved in the Microsoft Student Partner program. Rui's doctoral research focused on Time-of-Flight measurement systems for automotive LiDAR sensors in collaboration with Bosch Car Multimedia. Previously, Rui held various positions, including Technical Coordinator at DTx and Invited Assistant Professor at multiple institutions, while also contributing to embedded systems design and HMI development. Fluent in Portuguese and English, Rui enjoys drawing, sports, and exploring video game development in their spare time.
