Avinash Thakur

Avinash Thakur is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in AI and technology, currently serving as Principal Researcher AI at Monotype since March 2024. Prior to this role, Avinash held the position of Principal Engineer at OPPO from September 2019 to April 2024, leading a team focused on solving real-world challenges in Computer Vision for Edge devices. Avinash also contributed to biometrics authentication as the Lead at Samsung Research Institute Noida from June 2017 to August 2019, where responsibilities included building and designing features for Samsung Galaxy devices and collaborating across various teams to deliver key patents. Avinash earned a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree from the National Institute of Technology, Patna, between August 2008 and May 2012.
