Guillermo Romera, PhD, is a Market Research Manager at Monotype since October 2022, bringing a rich background in research and education. Previously, Guillermo served as a Doctoral Researcher at Penn State University, where a heuristic-based model for detecting word negation was developed, and quantitative analysis of social media data was conducted to assess attitudes toward Covid-19 vaccines. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant at both Penn State University and Northeastern University, Guillermo instructed students in academic research methods and Machine Learning principles, respectively. Additional experience includes a Design Internship at MassDiGI, where over 70 visual assets were created and optimized for cross-platform compatibility. Guillermo holds a PhD in Informatics with a focus on Human Computer Interaction from Penn State University, as well as a Master’s degree in Game Science and Design from Northeastern University and a Bachelor's degree in Interactive Media from Clark University.
