Founded in 2018, Monte Azul Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit with the mission to incubate sustainable agriculture and decentralized renewable energy systems that empower rural communities to build resilient economies.

Monte Azul has three main programs.

1. The Academy of Sustainable Agriculture and Innovation - our Agricultural workforce training program for new and seasoned farmers. We have an 8 week Agricultural Entrepreneurship 101 course, followed by a mentorship, incubator and accelerator program.

2. Energy Justice - fomenting the development of solar plus storage microgrids and renewable energy solutions for farms in rural areas to promote energy security.

3. Academic Immersion Program - collaborating with higher education to create unique experiential learning opportunities in Puerto Rico.
