Sam Pierce has a diverse work experience. Sam started their career as a Public Affairs Intern at the US Army in 2009. In 2010, they joined Teach for America as a Foreign Language Department Chairman, Spanish Teacher, and Football Coach. During their time there, they raised funds for a student trip to the Dominican Republic and developed a successful language curriculum. In 2011, they worked as a Real Estate Investment Associate at Robert Pittenger Company. Sam then joined Monteith Construction Corp. in 2012, where they held various roles including Project Manager, Corporate Strategy Special Projects, and Financial Operations Manager. Sam implemented cost-saving measures, built client relationships, and managed hiring and technology projects. In 2016, they worked as a Summer Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group. Currently, Sam is the Director of Growth at Monteith Construction Corp., leading the Raleigh office.
Sam Pierce's education history begins with their high school education at Highland Park High School, which took place from 2002 to 2006. Following that, they attended the University of Virginia from 2006 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Foreign Affairs, Spanish, and Economics. After working for a few years, Sam pursued further education and obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Strategy and Leadership from Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business. This degree was earned from 2015 to 2017. Additionally, Sam has obtained two certifications: the Designated Design-Build Professional Certification from the Design-Build Institute of America in December 2019 and the Management Excellence & Lean Six Sigma - Green Belt certification from the Optness Institute in April 2017.
