This requires everyone in the system to be organized around the belief that students are our customers. We can command their attendance but we earn their attention. Decisions must be based on what is best for students.

We believe that all students will learn and succeed when given work that is engaging. This work must be challenging and teach meaningful content to help students achieve state and national standards.
The Montesano School District is a system which believes every employee is important to helping students succeed. Therefore teamwork, honesty and trust must be part of all working relationships.
Adults in the school system model beliefs by their daily attitude and commitment to learning. Every person in the system must commit to continuous improvement by setting goals and pursuing continual professional development.

The community and parents are our greatest assets. Their participation in school activities should be encouraged at all times.
