Lead Product Designer at Monzo

Benjamin Strak has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Benjamin started their career as an Architectural Assistant at Lynch Architects, where they worked on competition submissions and assisted with planning stages for various projects. Benjamin then joined The Inkling as a Section Editor, where they commissioned and edited articles, coordinated printing and marketing, and participated in speaking engagements.

In 2016, Benjamin transitioned to the field of User Experience (UX) Design. Benjamin worked as a Graduate UX Designer at General Assembly, completing a 10-week immersive course and undertaking web and mobile design projects. Benjamin also worked as a UX Designer on a contract basis at ClearScore, setting up a user research and testing program.

Benjamin further developed their UX design skills at AKQA, where they served as an Associate UX Architect. Benjamin worked on digital products for clients such as Coutts, Airbnb, and Volvo. Benjamin'sresponsibilities included research, design, and testing for a car buying experience.

Following their time at AKQA, Benjamin joined NEZ, a startup focused on food and drink offers. Benjamin initially worked with NEZ as a freelance UX Designer and Researcher, assisting with user research, wireframing, and prototyping. Benjamin later joined NEZ as a full-time employee and served as the UX Lead, overseeing the expansion of the company and the launch of new products.

Most recently, Benjamin joined Monzo Bank as a Lead Product Designer. Benjamin played a crucial role in the design and launch of Monzo Plus and Premium accounts, and oversaw the development of the Trends feature. Benjamin'sefforts contributed to the company's successful funding raise.

Throughout their career, Benjamin has demonstrated their expertise in UX design, leading projects, and driving growth through innovative design solutions.

Benjamin Strak's education history begins with their attendance at Uppingham School from 2004 to 2009, where they pursued a degree in an unspecified field of study. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Cambridge from 2009 to 2012 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture. Continuing their education, Benjamin pursued a Diploma in Architecture, specifically RIBA Part 2, at London Metropolitan University from 2014 to 2016.
