Don van der Drift

Don van der Drift has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and research. Don is currently working as the Director of Data Science at Monzo Bank, starting from May 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Data Science at WhatsApp from November 2020 to April 2022.

Before joining WhatsApp, Don worked at Facebook as a Data Science Manager from August 2016 to November 2020. Don also served as the Head of Data Science at Quora from December 2012 to August 2016.

Don has a background in research as well. Don worked as a Researcher at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (IceCube) from July 2011 to December 2012. Additionally, they held the role of Research Assistant at Berkeley Earth Surface Temperature from January 2012 to August 2012. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Assistant at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LOASIS) from September 2010 to February 2011.

Don's early career involved working as a Cyclotron Operator at ACCTEC from January 2006 to September 2010. Don also founded and directed Vizit Design from March 2008 to July 2009.

During their time as a student, Don served as the President of the Student Society "J.D. van der Waals" from September 2006 to September 2007.

Don van der Drift obtained a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics from Eindhoven University of Technology in 2010. Don then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Applied Physics from the same university, which they completed in 2012.
