Simon Cory

Simon Cory is an accomplished risk management professional with extensive experience in leading risk functions across prominent financial institutions. Currently serving as Group Risk Director at Monzo Bank since April 2021, Simon oversees the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and supports the Chief Risk Officer, notably rebuilding the framework to align with regulatory expectations and Monzo's strategic goals. Prior to Monzo, Simon spent over two decades at Nationwide Building Society in various senior risk leadership roles, including Retail Risk Director and Director of Enterprise Risk Strategy, where significant achievements included embedding a revised 3 lines of defence model and enhancing risk governance structures. Simon began a career in finance and risk management at organizations like Legal & General, Standard Chartered Bank, AXA, and PricewaterhouseCoopers, backed by a BSC (Hons) degree in Economics & Accounting from the University of Bristol.
