Charles Bartel, Jr. has extensive experience in both the garden railway community and the field of simulation technology. Since January 2013, Charles has served as Vice President of the Western New York Garden Railway Society, where responsibilities include managing seasonal displays at the Erie County Botanical Gardens and coordinating biannual train displays with club members. In addition, Charles has been the National Secretary for the Big Train Operators Club since January 2016, fostering connections among garden railroad enthusiasts. Charles has held various engineering roles at Moog Inc. since 1972, currently acting as Product Application Manager for Simulation/Entertainment, where responsibilities focus on motion simulation in both military training and entertainment applications. Further contributions to the professional community include leadership roles at the Association of International Motion Engineers from 1988 to 2010. Charles holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from The Ohio State University.
