Michael Smith

Michael Smith is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the power generation sector. Currently serving as a Military Product Engineer at Moog Inc. since October 2018, Michael Smith has previously held the position of Lead Engineer in Repair Development at General Electric from October 2016 to October 2018. In this role, Michael Smith focused on component repair and technology improvements, providing guidance and technical support for engineering processes and maintenance enhancements. Prior to this, Michael Smith spent 18 years at Alstom Power, initially as a Development & Diagnostics Engineer, conducting investigations on gas and steam turbines, and later in various roles including a Sponsored Student and Technician Apprentice, where skills in quality assurance and engineering fundamentals were developed. Michael Smith holds a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering & Business Management from the University of Birmingham and a Higher National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Staffordshire.
