Scott Hurt serves as the Space & Defense Group Firmware Section Head at Moog Inc. since October 2011, leading FPGA firmware design engineering for high-reliability, man-rated space applications. Prior roles include Senior Design Engineer for the Space Launch System (SLS) at Moog, where Scott specialized in thrust vector control and utilized MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and implementing logic in FPGAs. Scott's experience includes over a decade at Xilinx as a Senior Staff Electrical Engineer focusing on embedded processor systems in VHDL and Ethernet-based designs. Earlier, Scott spent 14 years at Honeywell as a Staff Electrical Engineer, overseeing electronic system design and qualification for military aviation, managing various project aspects from R&D through production and field support. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, both from Southern Methodist University.
