Benjamin Topper

Benjamin Topper has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Benjamin started their career as an intern at the Laboratory of Annecy-Le-Vieux of Theoretical Physics in 2006, where they successfully reproduced published results on dark matter. In 2007, they interned at the Laboratory of Astroparticles and Cosmology, working on determining atmospheric parameters above the LSST telescope. Benjamin then had an internship at CERN in 2009, focusing on physics beyond the standard model. Following their internships, they worked as an advisor at the Assemblée nationale, where they were responsible for a study report on innovation.

In 2012, Benjamin joined ADEME as a cabinet member and a member of the management board. Benjamin led the energy policy exercise "Vision 2030-2050" and contributed to energy forecasting for different sectors. After their time at ADEME, Benjamin worked in the nuclear energy department at CEA from 2013 to 2014.

In 2015, Benjamin became the CEO and founder of WATTSTRAT, a SaaS energy simulation platform. Benjamin gained paying clients and secured over €300k in public and private financing. Following this, Benjamin joined Alan in 2018 as a finance professional, where they were in charge of finance-related topics. Alan is Europe's first digital health insurance company, and Benjamin played a crucial role in raising substantial funding for the company.

Most recently, Benjamin started working at Moon Surgical in 2023, focusing on corporate growth.

Benjamin Topper completed their Bac degree in S from Ecole Active Bilingue Jeanine Manuel from 1997 to 2004. Benjamin then pursued their studies in physics, starting with a period as a Graduate Student at Stony Brook University from 2007 to 2008, before attending The University of Texas at Austin from 2006 to 2007. Subsequently, they obtained a Master's degree in Theoretical Physics from Ecole normale supérieure from 2008 to 2010.

In addition to their educational background, Benjamin has also obtained a few certifications. Benjamin passed CFA Level 1 from CFA Institute in June 2016. Additionally, they hold a professional certification from the French market authority (AMF) obtained in January 2016.
