Theodora Vardis

Theodora Vardis is a Non-Executive Director at MoonPay. Theodora was previously the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at Metropolitan Capital Advisors from May 2007 to December 2017. At Metropolitan Capital Advisors, they were responsible for all areas of operations and administration of the company, including fund accounting, compliance, back office infrastructure, sales and marketing, investor relations and government regulatory compliance. Theodora played an integral role in implementing best practices for all functions outside the investment management function. Additionally, they managed the valuation methodology and process for all of the funds’ positions and oversaw work of the funds’ accountants and administrator in every step of NAV calculation. Theodora supervised a Financial Controller and a team of three.

Prior to their role at Metropolitan Capital Advisors, Theodora Vardis was the Managing Director - Global Head of Equity Research and Sales at IDEAglobal from January 1999 to April 2007. In this role, they were responsible for global equity research and sales.

Before their time at IDEAglobal, Theodora Vardis was a Portfolio Manager and Investment Officer at Thieme Associates Inc from January 1991 to December 1998. In this role, they managed portfolios and investments for clients.

Theodora Vardis has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor’s Degree in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics from Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon.
