Joel R. has a wealth of experience in the field of environment, health, and safety. Their most recent position was as the Head of Environment, Health, and Safety at Morbern since April 2023. Before that, they held the same role at Alstom from February 2022 to March 2023. From May 2020 to February 2022, Joel R. worked as an Owner Consultant at Joel G Rabideau Consulting Ltd. Joel R. has a diverse education history spanning several years. In 1999, they attended Ryerson University and obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene, which they completed in 2001. Following this, in 1999, they achieved certification as an ISO 14001 Lead Auditor from the ANSI National Accreditation Board/ANAB. Later, in 2000, they obtained the CRSP certification from the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals.
Moving forward, in 2003, Joel became a Certified Ergonomic Supervisor through EKG Inc. (E.K. Gillin & Associates Inc.). Then, in 2004, they acquired the CHSC certification from the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering.
After a gap, Joel continued their education in 2016, attending Infrastructure Health & Safety Association IHSA to obtain a COR - Internal Auditor certification in Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
In 2018, Joel pursued additional certifications; they completed the ISO 45001 Lead Auditor program from the BSI Group of Companies, and later participated in workplace mental health leadership training at Queen's University.
Continuing their education, in 2018, Joel enrolled at Harvard Business School Online and earned the CORe Credential of Readiness, focusing on Statistical Analysis, Business Economics, and Corporate Finance.
Most recently, from 2019 to 2022, Joel pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Labour Relations & Human Resources from Athabasca University.
Alongside their education, Joel obtained several certifications throughout their career. Notably, in 2022, they completed the Electric Rail Operating Rules EROR certification from OC Transpo and the EHS Frontline Leadership – America certification from CrossKnowledge. Additionally, in 2021, they obtained the Canadian Rail Operating Rules CROR certification from Metrolinx. Moreover, in 2018, Joel obtained the Lead Auditor certification for ISO 45001, and in previous years, they achieved the COR Internal Auditor certification.
Overall, Joel R. has dedicated himself to continuous learning, acquiring a range of qualifications and certifications in the fields of safety engineering, occupational health, auditing, and business management.
