Doug Smith, CIPP/US, CIPM, is a seasoned risk advisor and thought leader serving as Co-Head of Global Cyber & Privacy Legal at Morgan Stanley. With extensive experience in privacy, data security, and technology transactions within the financial services and fintech sectors, they have previously held multiple legal roles at Morgan Stanley, E*TRADE, and Capital One. Doug has a strong background in developing compliance programs and addressing legal issues surrounding data ethics and privacy. They are currently pursuing a Juris Doctor at the University of Virginia School of Law, alongside an M.S. in Forensic Science from Virginia Commonwealth University and a B.A. in Biology from the University of Virginia.
