John Thomas

John Thomas is an Executive Director of State and Local Tax at Morgan Stanley, where they are responsible for various planning and audit phases of the firm's Income Tax function and oversee Non Income Tax Compliance. Prior to this, John served as VP of State and Local Tax Audits at Morgan Stanley from 1998 to 2011, managing state income tax audits and advising on planning phases. Their career began at Grant Thornton LLP, where they worked as a Senior Tax Associate from 1995 to 1998, assisting firms across diverse industries with state and local tax matters. John is currently pursuing both a BBA in Public Accounting and an MBA in Taxation at Baruch College.
