John McCarthy

John McCarthy is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in corporate law. Currently serving as General Counsel at Morpho Labs since February 2025, John previously held a similar role at Fireblocks from September 2021 to February 2025. Prior to these positions, John was Special Counsel and Associate at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP from November 2009 to September 2021. Additionally, John contributed to academia as a teacher at Hebei Normal University of Science & Technology in 2005-2006, where responsibilities included creating lesson plans and teaching English. John began the legal career as a paralegal at Venable LLP from September 2003 to June 2005. Educational qualifications include a J.D. from Columbia Law School (2006-2009) and a B.A. in Economics with a minor in Spanish from Georgetown University (1999-2003).
