Ben Smith

Ben Smith is currently the Head of Engineering at Galliford Try, a position held since 2024. Previously, Ben worked as a Senior Engineer at Hyder Consulting from 2008 to 2010, where they were responsible for the technical delivery of various schemes and led a team of over 40 people. They also served as Divisional Director at Jacobs from 2010 to 2022, managing projects for Scottish Water Solutions. Earlier in their career, Ben was a Project Engineer at Pick Everard from 2004 to 2008, contributing to significant projects for Severn Trent Water. Ben earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Civil Engineering from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1998.
