Amit Hergass

Amit Hergass has extensive work experience in embedded software engineering and project management. Amit is currently working as a Software Project Manager at Morse Micro since June 2021. Prior to that, they held the position of a Senior Firmware Engineer at UHS Systems, Inc. from July 2020 to June 2021.

In 2020, Amit worked at Ecoult as a Senior Embedded Software Engineer. Amit was part of the Balena IOT platform and OTA migration team and was responsible for building a system profiling application and researching alternative solutions for SD card and file-system failures on battery management systems.

Before Ecoult, Amit worked at Silicon Labs from January 2018 to February 2020 as a Team Lead and Project Manager. In this role, they were involved in project planning, documenting development and release processes, and presenting them to auditors for standardization.

From 2009 to 2018, Amit worked at Genesys Electronics Design as a Senior Embedded Software Engineer. Amit was responsible for designing and developing low-level embedded operating systems and device drivers for new hardware products, as well as developing Windows GUI PC software.

Prior to that, they worked at ASI Solutions as an Application Engineer in 2008, where they designed and developed customizations for document imaging products. Amit was involved in writing designs and implementing code for data validation and database connectivity.

In 2007, Amit worked at G2 Microsystems as an Embedded Software Engineer, focusing on developing software for WIFI 802.11 systems on chip using the Ecos kernel.

Before that, they worked at Veraz Networks from 2002 to 2005 as an Embedded Software Engineer, primarily developing firmware and device drivers for Voice Over IP (VoIP) Media Gateway hardware cards.

Amit's earliest work experience was at ECI Telecom from 1998 to 2002, where they specialized in firmware design and development for Motorola, IBM, and Pentium based boards. Amit also gained expertise in telephony and telecommunication protocols and developed device drivers for Ethernet switches.

Amit Hergass has a diverse education history. Amit obtained a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in IoT connected Battery Management System from the University of Wollongong, where they studied from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Science from Tel-Hai College in Israel from 1995 to 1998. In 2009, they pursued a Diploma in IT Project Management from TAFE NSW. Additionally, they earned a Diploma in Practical Engineering - Electronics from Tel-Hai College in Israel from 1993 to 1995.
