Brian Francis

Machine Learning Engineer at MORSE

Brian Francis has a strong background in physics research and engineering. Brian is currently working as a Machine Learning Engineer at MORSE Corp since June 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Post-doctoral Researcher at The Ohio State University from November 2015 to June 2021. During their time there, they led researchers in various projects including the development of a neural network classifier for the CMS Experiment and the construction and analysis of a prototype detector for the milliQan Experiment. Brian also commissioned and administrated a Linux cluster for HPC. Before their role at The Ohio State University, Brian worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Virginia from June 2009 to August 2015. Brian'sresearch focused on searches for new physics at the CMS Experiment and they also served as a Teaching Assistant during their time there. Overall, Brian has a diverse range of experience in physics research, engineering, and teaching.

Brian Francis has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Brian further pursued their education at the University of Virginia, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Physics.
