Herman Kaplun has worked in various roles since 1999. Herman began their career as an R&D Software Engineer at GIE Technology, Inc. in Montreal. In 2000, they moved to the University of Montreal, Quebec, where they worked as a Software Developer. Kaplun then joined Aquila Mining Systems in 2002 as a Software Engineer. Herman continued their engineering career in 2004 at Caterpillar Inc. as a Software Engineer. In 2006, Kaplun moved to Aceris 3D Inspections, where they worked as a Software Engineer. In 2010, they joined Research In Motion as a Test Software Developer. Kaplun then moved to Aimetis in 2012, where they worked as a Software Developer, integrating surveillance cameras, developing and maintaining Video Management System software, and working with Video Streaming, ONVIF, RTP, H. 264, MPEG-4, and MJPEG. Finally, in 2016, Kaplun joined Peraso Inc. as Senior Manager, Product Validation, and then Product Validation Manager and Senior Staff Engineer.
Herman Kaplun attended Concordia University from 1997 to 2000 and earned a Bachelor of Computer Science (BaCS) degree in Computer Applications. Herman also attended Taškentskij Elektrotehniceskij Universitet Svjazi from 1984 to 1990, studying Radio Communication.
