Benjamin Jones

Benjamin Jones has a diverse work experience in the field of machine learning and data science. Benjamin started their career as a Private Mathematics Tutor at MyTutor.co.uk. Benjamin then worked as a Geospatial Intelligence Intern at Dstl. After that, they interned as a Technology Intern at Tesco, where they played the role of SCRUM master and Agile project manager. Benjamin also developed a web portal for secure file transfer.

Jones then joined Accenture as a Consultant Data Scientist, working on client-driven data science projects across various industries. Benjamin was skilled in Python, R, Java, and data visualization tools.

Benjamin further enhanced their expertise by working as a Machine Learning Specialist at Anglo American, where they developed and deployed production model pipelines for decision support systems and geological ore classification.

Jones later joined the UK Hydrographic Office as a Machine Learning Specialist, focused on optimizing machine learning operations on production pipelines for marine geospatial data.

Benjamin then served as the Head of Machine Learning at DeGould, leading a talented team in revolutionizing product inspection for automotive manufacturers using deep learning computer vision techniques.

Currently, Jones is the Head of Machine Learning at Motorway, where they are responsible for machine learning model development, deployment infrastructure, and AI & LLM business strategy. Benjamin also leads the Generative AI Governance & Advisory Group at Motorway, focusing on responsible AI utilization.

Benjamin Jones holds a Master's Degree in Natural Sciences, with a focus on Physics and Computer Science, from Durham University. In addition to their degree, they have obtained certifications in Deep Learning for Industrial Inspection from NVIDIA, OxML 2021 Machine Learning Summer School from the University of Oxford, and Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate from Microsoft.
