Ryan Cormack has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Ryan is currently working as a Principal Engineer at Motorway since 2023. Previously, they held the same role at Moonpig from 2021 to 2023. Ryan also worked at JUST EAT, where they started as a Software Engineer in 2018 and later became a Senior Software Engineer until 2021.
Prior to that, Ryan was a Co-Founder of MemoryStoria from 2014 to 2020, leading the technology effort and securing funding for the project. Ryan also co-founded Sonder, a startup focused on sexual health awareness, from 2015 to 2018.
In addition to their tech roles, Ryan had experience as a Software Engineer at Spotlight from 2015 to 2017, where they contributed to the development of backend systems and the consumer-facing site. Ryan also worked as a Software Engineer and Marketing Executive at Findmypast in different periods, showcasing their versatile skill set.
Furthermore, Ryan actively engaged in the tech community, serving as an Organiser for Dundee Tech Meetup from 2012 to 2013 and helping launch Scotland's first Code Club in collaboration with brightsolid online technology and the Dundee Contemporary Arts from 2012 to 2013, teaching children software development concepts.
Ryan Cormack completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Psychology from the University of Dundee, where they attended from 2007 to 2011. In addition to their undergraduate education, Ryan also obtained various certifications including Serverless Smarts Experts from Cloudtech (expected in 2024), AWS Learning: Serverless from Amazon Web Services (AWS) (expected in 2023), Advanced Architecting on AWS from AWS (obtained in 2021), and several others from LinkedIn and the Chartered Management Institute in 2021.
