Mark Arkinstall is a Technical Director in the Special Services Division at Mott MacDonald, a position held since 2024. Born in Newcastle, Australia, Mark was awarded a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) with Honours class 1 and the inaugural Peter Kleeman Medal in 1995. With a rich career at Arup, Mark contributed significantly to high-profile projects, including the design of the Beijing National Aquatic Centre, earning the MacRobert award in 2009. Mark has also founded Arup’s Australasian Advanced Technology + Research Practice and has published numerous articles and appeared in several documentaries. Additionally, Mark holds a Master of Engineering Studies from the University of Sydney.
