A pioneer of Australian craft beer, starting in Richmond, Victoria, back in 1997. 

The Mountain Goat journey started when Dave’s homebrewing got a bit of a nudge from his mate Cam. After discovering how different beer was overseas, they decided that Melbourne needed the same depth of flavour and decided to do something about it. 

The brewery and Goat Bar still operate in the back streets of Richmond, with a lineup of old favourites on tap, brewery exclusives beers and cracking pizzas. 

Throughout the year you'll also find our Rare Breed and Barrel Breed limited releases, as well as regular speciality brews, inspired by new hops, current affairs or whatever else has taken the brewers fancy. 

From Steam Ale, one of Australia’s first organic beers, through to the more complex limited releases and barrel aged beers, there is a Mountain Goat beer for everyone.
