Joseph Dinnison has a diverse work experience in the field of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and data collection.
Joseph started their career in 2019 as a Geographic Information System Intern at the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, where they verified the locations of water supply sources using various methods such as ArcMap, pictometry, and field checking.
In the same year, they also worked as a Field Inventory Specialist at Timmons Group, collecting data for Dominion and Verizon joint-use telephone poles using surveying tools like ESRI's Collector app and Trimble R1 GNSS Receiver.
In 2020, Joseph joined Lionbridge as an Online Map Quality Analyst. In this role, they performed quality assurance tasks related to user queries in internet search engines, rating the quality of queries and the search engine results. Joseph also conducted quick research to understand user intentions.
Most recently, Joseph began working at MOUNTAIN, LTD. as a Geographic Information Systems Technician in 2022.
Joseph Dinnison has a diverse education history that spans multiple fields of study. Joseph first attended Northern Virginia Community College from 2009 to 2011, where they earned an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Psychology. After a gap in their education, they resumed their studies at the same institution from 2017 to 2019 and obtained a Career Studies Certificate in Geographic Information Science and Cartography.
In 2021, Joseph enrolled at Western Governors University and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Data Management/Data Analytics, which is expected to be completed in 2023.
In addition to their formal education, Joseph has obtained certifications in the field of Information Technology. Joseph earned the CompTIA A+ certification from Pearson VUE in May 2022, and the CompTIA Network+ certification in August 2022, further demonstrating their dedication to expanding their knowledge and skills.
