Ben Deaton

Ben Deaton is an accomplished engineering and data science professional with extensive experience in machine learning and computational mechanics. Currently serving as the Director of Engineering for Machine Learning at Movable Ink since May 2023, Ben leads teams focused on the Da Vinci Machine Learning Platform and various MLOps and ML services. Prior to this role, Ben was the Director of Machine Learning at Shiplify, where responsibilities included overseeing machine learning engineering and operations. At Coherent Path, Ben worked as a Data Scientist, contributing to the development of machine learning recommendation systems. Ben's earlier career includes a role as an Engineering Consultant at Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc., specializing in computational mechanics for governmental and commercial projects. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Computational Mechanics, a Master's Degree in Structures, Mechanics, and Materials, and a Bachelor's Degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering, all from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
