Steve Beard

Steve Beard has over 25 years of work experience in the tech industry. Steve began their career at CACI Ltd in 1993 as the Head of Development for Marketing Database Solutions, where they were responsible for requirements and functional specifications for new database solutions. In 1998, they moved to P&O Nedlloyd as a Senior Technical Manager. In 2001, they joined Sporting Index as the Head of Technical Architecture and Systems Development Manager, where they designed and oversaw the successful development of a new internal trading system and developed BetHiLo, a simplified, low risk version of the Sporting Index product. In 2009, they moved to Rok as the IT Application Development and Support Manager, and in 2011 they joined Trainline as a Development Manager. In 2013, they were promoted to Head of Development of Trainline International, and in 2018 they joined Swoon as CTO to develop the company strategy and investment case. Steve is currently the CTO of Mr & Mrs Smith.

Steve Beard attended the University of Southampton from 1985 to 1988, where they obtained a BSc in Mechanical Engineering. Steve also holds a certification as a Scrum Master from the Scrum Alliance.
