August Smith

August Smith is a highly experienced professional in signal processing and optical systems analysis, currently serving as a Staff Scientist at MRSL Real-Time Systems Laboratory, Inc. since 2016, with a residence in the San Francisco Bay Area and Greater Los Angeles Area. Prior to this role, August held the position of Senior Research Engineer at SRI International from 2011 to 2016, engaging in advanced technical responsibilities including detection and estimation methods and machine learning applications. From 2001 to 2011, August was the Chief Analyst at Vista Research, Inc., where expertise in statistical signal processing, tracking, and radar systems was demonstrated through significant customer interaction and theoretical contributions. Earlier experience includes a tenure-track role as a Physics Instructor at Riverside City College from 1999 to 2001. August holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from the University of California, Riverside.
