David Rogers

Vice President of Marketing (US) at M&S Group

David Rogers is the Vice President of Marketing (US) at M&S Group. David has over 20 years of experience in the transport and logistics industry.

David started their career as a transport manager at Palmer and Harvey, one of the largest food and drink wholesalers in the UK. David was responsible for the daily management of transport and the planning department, ensuring operator license compliance, efficient fleet utilisation, and deliveries to high-profile customers such as Tesco, Sainsburys, Costcutter, Shell, Esso and many more.

In November 2017, Palmer and Harvey went into administration and David was tasked with overseeing the closure of the depot. This included sorting stock by supplier, communicating with charities to collect surplus stock, arranging collection of vehicles to be taken to auction, carrying out site visits to prospective new residents, sorting paperwork to archive or destroy, motivating a deflated team, emptying office space, and decommissioning the freezer and chiller.

Under David's leadership, the team was able to successfully close the depot while minimising disruption to customers and suppliers. David's key achievements include reducing the fleet from 115 class 2 vehicles to 69, reducing the budget deficit from -£50k per week to meeting the set budget, increasing vehicle fill, and reducing fuel usage through vehicle idling both in depot and on road.

David Rogers attended Haydon School where they studied English, Business Studies, and Geography. David then went on to Whitsone Head School to study Business Improvement Techniques at the NVQ Level 3.

David Rogers reports to Nathan Izaguirre, Chief Marketing Officer. They work with and Adrian Bailey - Vice President of Marketing (Mexico & Central America). Some direct reports include Lenny Hawkins - Demand Generation Director (US), Tara Sullivan - Marketing Director (US), and Martin Richardson - Digital & Content Director (US).
