Brian Matthews

Brian Matthews, CFA, has extensive experience in the finance and investment industry, currently serving as Chief Operating Officer and Head of Innovation for the Index division at MSCI Inc. since December 2007. In this role, Brian leads Global Index Product Development and Distribution. Prior positions at MSCI include Executive Director of Business Management, overseeing US ETF Licensing and Factor Index Strategy, and Executive Director of Sales, managing West Coast Sales and the San Francisco Office. Prior to MSCI, Brian held positions at Morgan Stanley as Vice President in Sales within the MSCI Barra Division, served as Director of Investor Relations at MVC Capital, and worked as an Associate Portfolio Manager at Mellon Capital Management. Brian holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from UCLA.
