Gareth W

Gareth W is a seasoned professional in the field of artificial intelligence and investment management, currently serving as Managing Director and Co-Head of AI Transformation at MSCI Inc. since September 2025. In addition to this role, Gareth is a Pledger at Founders Pledge since November 2024. Previously, Gareth held the position of Managing Director and Co-Head of Machine Intelligence as well as Portfolio Manager at Voya Investment Management from November 2020 to September 2025, where the Voya Machine Intelligence group was established to implement Virtual Analyst AI technology. Gareth co-founded G Squared Capital LLC in November 2011, a leading hedge fund focused on AI and machine learning in investing, and served as Managing Partner until November 2020. Earlier experience includes a partnership at IJ Partners from April 2009 to October 2011. Educational credentials include an Executive Masters from Columbia University as a WEF Global Leadership Fellow and a Doctor of Philosophy in Artificial Intelligence from UNSW.
