Mike Webb

Mike Webb is an experienced professional in economic and policy analysis, currently serving as the Manager of Community Insights at the Ministry of Social Development since June 2025. Previously, Mike held positions at Stats NZ, including Manager of Wealth and Expenditure Statistics, where the focus was on redeveloping the Household Economic Survey. Mike's career includes significant roles at the NZ Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, where responsibilities spanned from Senior Policy Officer involved in trade issues to First Secretary at the NZ Permanent Mission to the WTO, representing New Zealand in various international negotiations. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree and a Bachelor of Laws from Victoria University of Wellington, as well as a PhD in Economics from The University of Waikato.
