Daniel DeWitt, P.E. is a seasoned Resident Engineer with the Illinois Department of Transportation since August 2016, bringing extensive experience in civil engineering. Additionally, Daniel serves as an Instructor for the Motorcycle Safety Foundation, engaging in both classroom and practical range training. Previous roles include engineering positions at Lyon LLC and Wirco Inc., where responsibilities encompassed design engineering, CNC machine programming, and pattern making. Daniel's engineering journey began with an internship at the Illinois Department of Transportation, complemented by earlier experience as a draftsman and resident assistant. Daniel holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, and an Industrial Technology degree from Parkland College.

The Motorcycle Safety Foundation® is the internationally recognized developer of the comprehensive, research-based, Rider Education and Training System (MSF RETS). RETS curricula promotes lifelong-learning for motorcyclists and continuous professional development for certified RiderCoaches and other trainers. MSF also actively participates in government relations, safety research, public awareness campaigns and the provision of technical assistance to state training and licensing programs. The Motorcycle Safety Foundation is a national, not-for-profit organization sponsored by BMW, BRP, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Piaggio, Suzuki, Triumph, Victory and Yamaha.
