Merissa Jane

Merissa Jane has a diverse work experience spanning from 2003 to present. Merissa'smost recent position is as a Customer Experience Manager at Mspark since June 2023. Prior to that, they were an Apprentice Teacher at Club Pilates starting in May 2023. From 2017 to 2022, they worked at the International School Bangkok, initially as a G6 Learning Support Teacher and later as an MS/HS Summer School Coordinator. Merissa also served as a Visiting Committee Member at the Western Association of Schools and Colleges from 2018 to 2022. Before that, they held the role of Head of Secondary Learning Support at both the International School of Penang and Yew Chung Educational Foundation, from 2015 to 2017 and 2011 to 2015, respectively. Merissa began their career as a Language Teacher at Gwinnett County Public Schools from 2005 to 2011, and previously worked as a Resource Specialist at Escondido Union School District from 2004 to 2005, and at San Diego Unified School District from 2003 to 2004.

From 2016 to 2017, Merissa attended the University of West Georgia, where they pursued a Post-Baccalaureate Non-Degree Initial Certification in Media with a focus on School Librarian/School Library Media Specialist.

In 2007 and 2008, Merissa studied at Nova Southeastern University, earning a Master's degree in Teaching and Learning with a specialization in K-12 Technology Integration.

From 2000 to 2001, Merissa completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Collaborative Education at Troy University.

Between 1998 and 2000, Merissa attended Auburn University, focusing on Special Education, although the degree obtained during this time is unspecified.

In addition to their formal education, Merissa has also obtained various certifications. In May 2021, they became a certified School Media Specialist through the Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators. In December 2022, they obtained the Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) certification through the Scrum Alliance.
